One of Japan’s most popular rock bands King Gnu’s first ever arena tour “King Gnu Live Tour 2020 AW ‘CEREMONY’”, which was postponed due to the COVID pandemic, finally began on November 7th at the Tokyo Garden Theater. The tour will include 4 cities and 9 performances, finishing with a show at Makuhari Messe on December 6th. The final show will be available for live streaming globally to celebrate the year 2020, during which their album “CEREMONY” released in January became the #1 hit album for the first half of the year.
On Nov 7th, the livestream tickets for the Makuhari concert also went on sale. The show taking place in the Halls 4 – 6 of the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall will be their biggest show ever and the excitement of the concert will be sent live to the audience around the nation.
King Gnu began as Srv. Vinci, led by Daiki Tsuneta, in 2015. After several member changes, the band settled on its current lineup of Daiki Tsuneta (guitar, vocals), Yu Seki (drums, samplers), Kazuki Arai (bass), and Satoru Iguchi (vocal, keyboards). The band relaunched itself as “King Gnu” in April 2017. Their sound, known as “Tokyo New Mixture,” brings together their unique pop sensibilities and sensuality. They have played at major festivals in Japan such as the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, and their music videos garner major attention in Japan, such as the one for Hakujitsu which has amassed nearly 300 million views, while their headlining shows always sell out. They have created a distinctive world through all their creative efforts via their music, videos, artwork, and live performances.
